Grief in the Workplace

September 27, 2024

For many adults, we grieve differently at work that we do at home.  And because most of our waking hours are spent on the job, this is an issue that employers should address. Many people try not to cry or show emotions at work because they are under social pressure to act normally regardless of the crisis.  They tend to view a show of emotions as a sign of weakness, but typically that is far from the truth. When a sense of loss is present in the workplace, many experience a series of emotions that cycle through the grieving process. Course objectives include:

  • Identify five issues facing people who are grieving at work
  • List interventions for providing support for colleagues who are grieving
  • Develop a plan specific to each participant’s place of work

Our research bears this out as do our case studies.” In this unique training, you will:

  • Understand contemporary relevance, traditional views, and new insights into forgiveness
  • Explore the definition, process, and barriers to forgiveness
  • Apply concepts via evidence-based tools and techniques to help your clients or patients cultivate interpersonal forgiveness
