What do you do with the pieces of a favorite dish or cherished antique when it has broken? Rather than discard an item because it is damaged and seems no longer valuable, the ancient Japanese Art of Kintsugi repairs these broken pieces. Meaning “golden joinery,” Kintsugi encourages us to embrace and honor the damage as a beautiful, valuable part of an item’s history. This is a powerful metaphor for the experience of healing. Please join us for an evening of grief education, support, and therapeutic art. Participants will take home their own Kintsugi piece at the end of the event.
